Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Lou Gehrig's Disease

What Holistic or Natural Approach I would take if diagnosed with ALS
by Thomas Martin

I would follow the lead of a man who turned his own ALS around.  Frustrated with his doctors, he began seeking answers outside of the Big Pharma machine.  His story is referenced below.

Here is what I will do:

  • Start using Magnesium Oil, preferably Ancient Minerals.  I will spritz on 15 or so shots a day, rubbing it in with my inner forearm.  I will do this before bedtime.
  • I will take Fermented Cod Liver Oil/Butter Oil daily,
  • I will make fermented vegetables and eat about 1/3 cup daily.  My gut flora is likely out of balance.
  • I will start drinking Tom's Miracle Tea.  This is my own formulation of warm filtered water (about 12 ounces), the juice of one (or one-half, depending on the size) lemon, 2 teaspoons virgin, organic coconut oil and 2 teaspoons raw, organic, local honey.  I will drink one of these each day on an empty stomach, preferably in the morning.  I will increase the amount of coconut oil each week until I reach at least 9 teaspoons and even more if I haven't noticed any improvements
  • I will eliminate all wheat, corn and soy from my diet.  Soy is in almost every processed food, so pre-packaged foods will need to be removed from my diet, as well as all fast food (one exception might be Chipotle).
  • I will eliminate any food marked "diet" or "lite."  Ensuring I get NO artificial sweeteners in my diet
  • I will eliminate consuming MSG in my diet, checking food labels and asking restaurants in which I dine if they add this poison to their foods.
  • I will take the following nutrients to aid my mitochondria;
    • please refer to my article on Parkinson's Disease for a full list of these helpful nutrients
    • http://onepercenttreatments.blogspot.com/2014/04/parkinsons-disease.html
    • I will also read and follow the diet recommendations of Dr. Terry Wahls in her book The Wahl Protocol
    • I will eliminate as many toxins as possible in my life, especially mercury, fluoride and aluminum.   These three and their primary sources in our lives are detailed in my book Just Do This One Thing.
DISCLAIMER:  I am in no way recommending treatments or cures on this blog.  This blog is merely a compilation of what I have learned about a diet based, natural approach to health. I follow the steps I outline in my book Just Do This One Thing: A Guide To Chronic Good Health and know I will avoid almost every disease listed in this blog.  On the other hand, I needed a place to write steps for specific ailments as I came across them.  If you are looking for alternative therapies, I hope you can benefit from my research, especially if your doctor has told you "nothing more can be done for you."

Osteoporosis - Weakening of the bones

What  Holistic or Natural Approach I would take if diagnosed with Osteoporosis
by Thomas Martin

The first thing I will do is re-read Drugs That Don't Work and Natural Therapies That Do! by Dr. David Brownstein to fully understand the dangers a limitations of osteoporosis drugs.  Having done that, I will avoid taking them.

Not only do I need more calcium in my diet, I also need the nutrients required for my body to properly absorb and utilize that calcium.  It is also important that I take the proper form of calcium.

With that in mind.  Here is what I will take:

  • Calcium Citrate - 800 to 1,200 mgs daily.  I willavoid calcium carbonate as it neutralizes my stomach's acid and ability to absorb all nutrients.
  • Magnesium Oil - preferably from Ancient Minerals, spritzing 15 shots or so a day onto my skin, probably just before bed.
  • Vitamin D3 - 5,000 to 10,000 IUs daily
  • Vitamin K2 - 1,000 to 2,000 mcgs daily
  • Vitamin B12 (as methylcobalamin), sublingual, 5,000 mcgs daily.
  • I will also drink Bone Broth Daily.  This is easily made at home and complete information regarding it is available on the internet (check out Weston A. Price) or from my book Just Do This One Thing
  • I will eliminate all fluoride products.  I will switch to fluoride-free toothpaste and filter my water if it contains fluoride as well.
If possibly, I will add raw, whole milk to my diet and definitely add whole milk, no-sugar yogurt as well.  I would also consider getting more gut flora into my system through either Bio-Kult capsules and/or eating fermented vegetables daily.

High Blood Pressure (hypertension)

What Holistic or Natural Approach I would take if diagnosed with High Blood Pressure
by Thomas Martin

This post is not theoretical.  I had problems for years with high blood pressure. For the most part, I refused medication, but after my bout with heart failure, it became even more important to keep my blood pressure in a low to normal range.

The problem took on a new immediacy when one of my molars shattered and had to be removed while I was on a combination of an ace inhibitor and a beta blocker.  I checked on how these drugs worked and discovered that one of the drugs inhibits the body's absorption of calcium.  Even though I was supplementing calcium and getting large amounts through the nutrient-dense food I was eating, my body couldn't get access to it, so my body began cannibalizing itself to get the calcium it needed.  My teeth were its first targets.

I read many websites and books seeking answers.  Here is what works for me:

  • 400 mgs CoQ10 (I take only Co10 in the ubiquinol form)
  • Magnesium oil (preferably Ancient Minerals) - spritz 15 shots onto my skin, rubbing it in with my forearm.  I do this just before bedtime is usually best.  Note that it takes about 4 months of using magnesium oil for our bodies to get the full benefits.
  • Vitamin D3 - 10,000 IUs daily
  • Calcium Citrate - 800 mgs with food
  • I will take Cod Liver Oil daily (preferably Carlson's brand in a Gel Cap form)
  • Olive Leaf Extract - I started with 1,000 mgs per day.  I increased the dose as necessary, monitoring my blood pressure along the way.  I currently take 2,000 mgs per day.
  • I will take dehydrated blueberries powder daily (starting around 22 grams)
  • Lugol's solution iodine (a mix of iodine and potassium iodide) - I put about 15 drops on my skin and rub in with my forearm, again, just before bed.
  • L-arginine - I take 1,000 mgs per day
  • Niacin (vitamin B3) - I take 1,000 mgs per day
  • I will drink fresh celery juice daily.
  • Pycnogenol - 100 mgs per day
  • I eliminated sugar and all artificial, chemical sweeteners such as aspartame
  • I also add chia seeds to my morning breakfast/protein drink.  Chia seeds have a wide range of benefits including the ability to help lower high blood pressure
  • I will eliminate all wheat, soy and corn from my diet.

I suspect, for me, the magnesium oil and the olive leaf extract were the biggest factors in reducing my high BP.

Along the way I also tried taking nattokinase and amealpeptide.  Both were recommended to me by a trusted holistic physician, but neither seemed to have much  of an impact.  That being said, I would definitely try the amealpeptide again.

Although my BP is under control, I am now going to have all of my mercury amalgam fillings removed and replaced.  I suspect this has also contributed to my high BP in the past.

All of these items (except the Olive Leaf Extract) are listed in my book Just Do This One Thing in greater detail and with more references.

Heart Disease: What Your Doctor Won't Tell You by Dr. Rodger H. Murphree

ADD/ADHD

What Holistic or Natural Approach I would take If Diagnosed with ADD/ADHD

by Thomas Martin

When I was a child in the 1960s in school, I never heard of anyone with a "disease" called ADD/ADHD.  I was wiggly and had trouble sitting still and studying.  It was remedied by my mother sternly telling me to sit down and finish my work (along with threats of punishment if I did not).  It worked just fine.  But then, we weren't permitted sodas at home either and my mother prepared almost all of our meals.

But, considering how the American diet has fallen into one of non-nutrition and poor habits, it is no wonder that children are unable to focus or be calm.

Here are the steps I will take if diagnosed with ADD/ADHD:

  • I will eliminate all sugar and all chemical sugar substitutes in my diet.  I will also minimize all non-vegetable carhohydrates,
  • I will eliminate all vegetable oils including canola, cottonseed, corn, soybean as well as margarine.  I will instead use coconut oil and extra virgin olive oil as well as pasture butter.
  • I will take Vitamin B12 in the form of methylcobalamin, sublingual at 2,000 mcgs daily.
  • I will eliminate all wheat from my diet
  • I will eliminate all GMO foods from my diet especially corn (specifically high fructose corn syrup), all soy products and by-products, and all wheat,
  • I will eliminate all fluoride in my life, both in the toothpaste I use and by filtering the water I drink through a filter designed to remove fluoride.  I know there is no benefit to my teeth by using fluoride and that fluoride is, in fact, an industrial waste product also used as a pesticide.
  • I will take Cod Liver Oil, about 2,000 to 4,000 mgs per day (in two doses) preferably from Carlson's
  • I will work on my gut health,  I will make and eat whole fat yogurt daily, drink kombucha and/or kefir and I will make fermented vegetables and eat about 1/3 cup daily.  My gut flora is likely out of balance.  If that is not possible, I will take probiotic capsules from Bio-Kult.
  • I will take 650 mgs of Betaine HCL with each meal
  • I will take magnesium oil (preferably Ancient Minerals), spritzing 10 to 15 shots onto my skin daily, before bedtime.
  • I will take Lugol's Solution Iodine (mix of iodine and potassium iodide), about 10 to 15 drops per day either on my skin or mixed in a glass of water.
  • If the above does not work, I will look into putting my child on the Gut and Psychology Syndrome Diet

If none of these worked, I will have any mercury amalgam fillings removed (safely, by a dentist specially trained), as the mercury could also be the source of the problem.

Dementia & Alzheimer's Disease

What Holistic or Natural Approach I would take diagnosed with Dementia or Alzheimer's Disease (or other cognitive ailment)

by Thomas Martin

Here is what I will do if diagnosed with dementia or Alzheimer's Disease:

  • I will eliminate sugar and all chemical sugar substitutes from my diet. If I need something sweet, I will use raw, organic honey from a local source.
  • I will eliminate anything labeled "low-fat" or "diet"
  • I will take raw, virgin, cold-pressed coconut oil daily.   I will start with 2 teaspoons and work up to the therapeutic dose of 7 teaspoons (just a little more than 2 tablespoons).  I will take even more than 7 teaspoons if necessary.   I will find ways to get this into my diet such as in warm water with lemon juice and honey, in my morning oatmeal, or added to other warm foods.  This step shows the greatest promise in fighting the disease.  See Power Tea Blend below  (see references below).
  • I will make my own fermented vegetables and eat at least 1/3 cup of them each day.
  • I will reduce my intake of non-vegetable carbohydrate foods such as pasta, potatoes and rice.
  • I will increase my intake of good fats such as dairy (raw, whole milk is best), lots of pasture butter and high quality yogurt (whole fat, non-sweetened and preferably homemade) and avocado oil.
  • I will start using Magnesium Oil (preferably from Ancient Minerals) and spritz about 15 shots onto my skin, rubbing it in with my forearm at least six night a week before bed.
  • I will take 10,000 IUs of Vitamin D3 daily
  • I will stop eating all grains, especially wheat
  • I will stop using all vegetable oils such as corn, canola, cottonseed and soybean
The above steps should be the most effective.  If I find I am still struggling with these ailments, I would begin taking the following steps as well:
  • Olive Leaf Extract - I will take 2,000 mgs daily.
  • I will take Vitamin B12 in the form of methylcobalamin, sublingual at 2,000 mcgs daily.
  • I will take dehydrated blueberries powder daily (starting around 22 grams)
  • I will take Vitamin K2, 2,000 mcgs daily
  • I will take Taurine, about 2,000 mgs daily,
  • I will start taking 100 mgs of pycnogenol daily
  • I will start taking 2,000 to 4,000 mgs of fermented cod liver oil daily, in two doses of 2,000 mgs each
  •  I will drink my Power Tea Blend.  Each morning, I would warm filtered water on the stove (never the microwave) until it is about 115 degrees F.   In a coffee mug, I will add to the water, the juice of one organic lemon (or 1/2 of the lemon, if it is quite large) and 1 teaspoon virgin, organic coconut oil (to start).  If necessary for flavor, I will add 1 to 2 teaspoons of raw, organic honey.  I will drink this tea daily, first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. I will slowly increase the amount of coconut oil in the drink until I reach about 6 to 8 teaspoons (although I will take more if I am not experiencing any benefit)
  • I will take high quality cod liver oil, preferably from Carlson's.
  • I will take 400 mgs of CoEnzymeQ10 (CoQ10) in the ubiquinol form
  • I will take Turmeric (Curcumin) daily.
  • I will stay on the regimen at least eight weeks.
  • I will have all of my mercury amalgam fillings safely replaced by a dentist specially trained in this procedure.

Osteo Arthritis

What Holistic or Natural Approach I would take if Diagnosed with Arthritis (Osteo Arthritis)
by Thomas Martin

Arthritis is triggered primarily when our body's pH balance is too acid.  The primary cause of this in the American diet is sugar and carbohydrates.

If I was diagnosed with Arthritis, here is what I will do:

  • Like my recommendations for cancer patients, I will first take a mixture of 1/2 teaspoon baking soda (not baking powder) and stir it into 8 ounces of water and drink it.   I will do this every two hours on an empty stomach on the first day.  This will quickly bring my body to a more neutral or balanced state.
  • I will eliminate all sugars, chemical sugar substitutes, wheat, soy and corn (especially high fructose corn syrup).  Next I will eliminate all vegetable oils using only extra virgin olive oil, pasture butter and coconut oil for cooking and for salad dressings.
  • I will eliminate all GMO foods (corn, soy, wheat, beets)
  • I will take an Omega-7 Oil capsule daily, with meals.
  • Then I would begin drinking the magic morning elixir I describe in my book Just Do This One Thing: A Guide To Chronic Good Health.  Each morning I will take an organic lemon, cut it open and squeeze the juice into a coffee mug.  To that I will start by adding 1 teaspoon virgin, organic coconut oil and then pour 12 ounces of warm water (approximately 115 degrees F) over the mixture.  If the taste was too tart, I will add 2 teaspoons of raw, organic honey.  Each week, I would increase the amount of coconut oil by 1 teaspoon.   I will keep doing this until I am taking 3 to 5 tablespoons a day.
  • I will make my own bone broth and drink it daily.
  • I will start drinking Kombucha every day.  I will probably start brewing my own to save money.
  • I will begin taking Cod Liver Oil.  I will take 3 to 6 capsules per day with food.
  • I will use magnesium oil (preferably from Ancient Minerals) and spritz about 15 shots onto my skin, rubbing it in with my inner arm just before bedtime
  • I will begin a raw vegetable juicing program.  The vegetables I will use are listed in my post on cancer
  • I will also tend to my gut health as described in my post on skin diseases
  • I will probably continue to increase the amount of coconut oil and cod liver oil until I felt steady relief
  • I will eliminate all fruit juices from my diet.

Psoriasis, Eczema, Acne, Rosacea

What Holistic or Natural Approach I would take  if diagnosed with Psoriasis, Eczema, Acne, or Rosacea

by Thomas Martin

The causes of most skin problems are the same:  a poorly functioning digestive system.  Foods are not fully digested and processed and then become toxic to the body.  The body tries eliminating the toxins through the skin, causing a variety of problems.
Every time I see a young handsome boy or beautiful young girl with bad acne, I want to stop them and say “There is an answer, but you have to take responsibility and action yourself.”
If I Change my diet and I will change my skin.  Also 70% of our immune system is in our gut.  Follow this path and I’ll likely notice fewer bouts with colds and flu as well.
Here is what I will do.  I know the more steps I take, the better the results:

  • Eat whole milk, organic yogurt every day.  If possible, make your own using new culture for each batch.  I make a half gallon of full fat milk yogurt each week.  To make your own yogurt, you can get the Yogourmet maker and starter.  Use only whole milk, preferably non-homogenized.  If you can get raw, whole milk (as I do), use that.  I will try to avoid most store bought yogurts as they contain a wide variety of non-essential chemicals and sugars.
  • I will add fermented vegetables to my daily diet.  Sauerkraut is the most common, but I make sure the brand I buy is fermented rather than pickled.  Bubbies is a good brand.  Non-pasteurized Korean Kim Chi is also a good choice.  Again it is best to make my own.  I mix cabbage, onions, carrots, parsley, garlic, ginger and cucumbers, let it ferment for a week, refrigerate and then add it to many of the foods I eat.
  • I will take 10,000 IU of Vitamin D every day.
  • Drink Kombucha daily.  Kombucha is a fermented tea that provides my body with a good hit of probiotics.  It is available in many specialty stores, one brand being “Synergy.”  Although they look fruity and sweet, they are actually a bit sour to the taste.  I can also make your own Kombucha – many sites on the web can tell me how.
  • I will take a probiotic tablet (such as Bio-Kult) daily,
  • I will take a GLA capsule daily,
  • I will take Cod Liver Oil Capsules (preferably Carlsom's), daily
  • I will take a zinc supplement, 50 to 100 mgs, daily
  • I will take raw, virgin coconut oil daily (starting with about 1 teaspoon and working up to 1 tablespoon)
  • I will take Betaine HCL tablets with each meal.  Low stomach acid is often associated with people suffering from skin disorders as well as asthma.  If I also have problems with heartburn or acid reflux, this step will make a huge difference.
  • Eliminate all sugars from my diet – this includes all artificial sweeteners and especially all soda drinks.  If I must use something sweet, I will use raw, organic honey (locally harvested, if possible) or real maple syrup.
  • I will take Turmeric (Curcumin) daily.
  • If I do all of these things and still suffer from skin problems, I will also try eliminating all wheat, corn and soy from my diet.

Ok, so maybe this isn’t the easiest path, but then success rarely is.  The road to optimal health is paved with persistence and tenacity!

If the above steps did not work for me, especially if I had acne, I will also supplement my diet with Nutri-Meds Porcine Thyroid Health Capsules, one daily on an empty stomach.

The Dangers and Government Insanity Regarding Mercury Amalgam Fillings

The Dangers and Government Insanity Regarding Mercury Amalgam Fillings

by Thomas Martin

I had quite an interesting day yesterday.  After studying the dangers of mercury amalgam fillings, I decided I needed to get mine removed and replaced with something safer.  I have exhibited signs of mercury poisoning for most of my life.  As I made changes to become healthier, I kept hoping that some of these symptoms would disappear, but alas, they have not.

I originally talked to my own dentist about this and scheduled an appointment to have half of them removed.  Then, after reading an article about the safety procedures a dentist should follow in removing them, I e-mailed my dentist’s office, asking him if he follows those procedures.  He then referred me to another dentist in a neighboring city.

My visit to this dentist’s office was extremely enlightening.   I learned even more about the dangers of my mercury fillings to my health and the history behind the people who have tried to expose these dangers.

One of the first dentists to study and try to bring to light the dangers of these fillings is Dr. Hal Huggins.  His website is below.   Dr. Huggins tried to set up a seminar to fully disseminate the dangers to other dentists.  Those dentists were informed by the ADA that should they actually attend the seminar, they would be stripped of their licenses.  Even now, a dentist can perform the procedure, but cannot encourage or warn a patient of the dangers. Should he do this, he will lose his license as well.

https://www.hugginsappliedhealing.com/

The official ADA and government position on mercury amalgam fillings is that they are perfectly safe.  Even though they do admit that mercury constantly leaches out of the fillings into our bodies, somehow, someway, in their minds, mercury is non-toxic in this situation.

Let’s contrast that to the handling of mercury in an office building.  If the same amount of mercury used in a typical filling was accidentally spilled onto the ground, the entire office building would need to be evacuated, shut down, a Hazmat team would be called in to clean up the mercury, the building re-evaluated and then business could resume as normal.   These are the rules of the EPA.  But, as hazardous as it appears to the government in a building, that same mercury is considered completely safe in your mouth.

Diseases associated with these fillings are:
  • Chronic Fatigue
  • Depression/Suicide
  • Lupus
  • Tremors
  • Parkinson's Disease
  • Diabetes
  • Brain Fog/Memory Problems
  • Numbness and Tingling
  • ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease)
  • Leukemia
  • MS
  • Arthritis
  • Birth Defects
  • Heart Failure

If you have mercury amalgam fillings, get them removed and replaced with composite resin fillings by a dentist trained in the safest methods.  Also be sure that the new fillings do not contain Fluoride or BPAs (as some do).

Consider also the amount of mercury deemed "safe" in vaccines.  Here, from my book Just Do This One Thing:
"Using parts per billion (PPB) to measure levels, water is considered safe if it has less than 2 PPB, waste is considered hazardous if it has over 200 PPB, the typical flu shot has 50,000 PPB of mercury.  These numbers are staggering yet the US Government, Big Pharmaceuticals and the AMA insist the vaccines are perfectly safe.  If you take multiple vaccines in one year, think of the risk to which you subject yourself."
Again, what is apparently safe in your body, is toxic every place else.
Does this make sense you?

Cancer

What Holistic or Natural Path I would Take if Diagnosed with Cancer

by Thomas Martin

First and foremost, cancer feeds on sugar.   Oncologists know this yet won’t tell us to immediately STOP EATING SUGAR in all forms.  I will avoid all non-vegetable carbohydrates including all wheat, all corn and all soy (all three are also genetically modified (GMOs)).  Chemical sugar substitutes, such as aspartame, are actually worse.

Second, cancer can only live in an acidic environment.  I must get my body’s pH balance to a more neutral or even a slightly alkaline state.  Sugars are the primary culprit in creating an acid environment in your body.  So, eliminating them is a big step forward.  To hasten this, I
will squeeze out the juice of an organic lemon into a glass.  To that juice I will add two teaspoons of raw, organic honey and 1 teaspoon to bicarbonate of soda (baking soda, NOT baking powder).  I will fill the glass with room temperature water and drink it on an empty stomach.  I will do this a couple of times a day for about six months.

To measure my body's pH balance, I can buy and use strips at my drug store, measuring my acid via my urine as directed.  I would keep a close watch on this, ensuring I reach a pH balance of around 7, which is considered neutral.

My next step is to buy and start using Magnesium Oil.  Cellular magnesium levels in cancer patients are almost always low.  I already buy and use Ancient Minerals Magnesium Oil (available on the internet).  I spritz 10 to 15 sprays onto my skin and rub it in with my inner arm.  It is usually best to apply this before bed.

Equally important is iodine.  I will continue to buy and use Lugol’s solution (a blend of iodine and potassium iodide).  This is also available on the internet, even on Amazon.  I will alternate each day between applying it to my skin (also rubbing it in with my inner fore arm) and then putting it in water to drink.  Again, I will use about 15 drops per day.

I will take Vitamin D3, about 10,000 IUs per day (with food), preferably, I will get out into the sun for about 20 minutes a day. I will wear shorts, short sleeved or sleeveless shirts and no hat. The Vitamin D3 my own body produces from being in the sun is far superior to anything I can buy off of the shelf at the health food store. I will NOT wear sun screen.  The sun does not cause cancer, it cures cancer.

I will take turmeric or curcumin daily,

I will take an Omega-7 Oil capsule daily, with meals.
I will take ubiquinol CoQ10 (around 600 milligrams per day).
I will take Black Seed Oil, daily,

I will take 200 mcgs of selenium each day.
The above nutrients are the primary ones I suggest.  Those and the juicing program below are critical to beating the cancer.  So, should anyone suggest that money is being thrown away on supplements, the basic list is short.

I will begin a juicing program to get vital nutrition into my body to boost my immune system.  These foods are good in fighting cancer as they provide strong nutrition for my immune system and bring my body's pH balance to a more neutral state (only purchase and consume organic vegetables):
  • Chia seeds
  • Cucumber
  • Flax Seeds
  • Kale
  • Broccoli
  • Swiss Chard
  • Turnip Greens
  • Wheat Grass
  • Dates
  • Avocados
  • Ginger
  • Garlic
  • Turmeric

I will take Vitamin B-12 as methylcobalamin, sublingually, 2,500 mcgs daily, upon rising.

I will take Cod Liver Oil, (2 to 5 capsules total)

I will soak for 30 minutes in a tub of warm water to which I have added 1 cup of 35% hydrogen peroxide.  I will do this three times a week.  The hydrogen peroxide will help to alkalize my body.

I will make fermented vegetables and eat about 1/3 cup daily.  My gut flora is likely out of balance, this is especially beneficial if I am fighting stomach cancer.

I will take at least 2,000 mcgs of Vitamin K2 per day.

I will take niacin, starting with 500 mgs per day with food and increasing steadily until I reach 2,000 mgs daily

I will take at least 10 grams of Vitamin C per day (taken throughout the day with meals).

I will take 100 to 150 mgs of zinc daily,

I will take either Chlorella or Spirulina as both have been shown to help heal cancer.

I will eliminate all Sodium Fluoride and Aluminum from my life.   I will change to a toothpaste without Fluoride and stop using antiperspirants which contain aluminum.  I will stop cooking with pans made of aluminum, even if told by the manufacturer they are safe.

I will do two coffee enemas at least three times per week.

I will refuse all chemo and radiation treatments.   Chemo is a death sentence.  Even if I survive the first round of cancer, should it come back (which it will come back), the cancer will kill me since my immune system is so dramatically weakened.

If I was too concerned or afraid to go this path alone, I would go to the Gerson Institute in San Diego or the Camelot Cancer Center in Mexico for in-patient treatment.

I will also re-read Killing Cancer - not People by Robert G.  Wright

Specifically for Skin Cancer:

I will still take all of the above steps, but I will also do the following:

I will make a mixture of raw, virgin, cold-pressed coconut oil and baking soda (equal portions) and apply it daily to the skin cancer, without rubbing it in or massaging it.  I will leave it on the cancer for 30 minutes and then wash it off.   I should see serious remission in the cancer within about 30 to 40 days

Specifically for Colon Cancer:

I will still take all of the above steps, but I will also do the following:

Daily, I will take 3 tablespoons of raw, virgin, cold-pressed coconut oil.  Knowing that this oil can also act as a natural laxative, I will start with one teaspoon daily and slowly work up to the full dose.

If you are looking for alternative therapies, I hope you can
benefit from my research, especially if your doctor has told you "nothing more can be done for you."

Parkinson's Disease

What Holistic or Natural Approach I would Take if Diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease

by Thomas Martin

There is no disease of which I have a greater interest than Parkinson's Disease.  It has struck my family twice.  First it attacked my uncle and then later, my mother.  I watched my uncle deteriorate over a period of 30 years.  So I know firsthand what a horrible, devastating disease it is.

In my early 50s, I was struck down with heart failure.  Just as with my uncle’s disease, the doctors had no reasons for the illness and their only solution was a heart transplant.  I decided to seek answers in holistic treatment.  I read obsessively, formulated a strategy and then found a doctor willing to work with me.  My persistence was rewarded as my heart failure reversed and I am back to a normal life.  I have written about my ordeal and path back to health in my book, “One Percent: My Journey Overcoming Heart Disease.”  As I have continued to read about natural, especially food-based cures and preventions for various ailments, my attention is especially peeked whenever I read something about Parkinson’s.
So, I do not have the disease, but here are the first things I would do if diagnosed with it.  Many of these nutrients help preserve existing mitochondria in the body and aid in building new mitochondria as well:

  • CoQ10 (ubiquinol form) - 600 mgs daily
  • Magnesium Chloride (spritz about 15 shots on skin and rub in with your inner forearm just before bed)
  • Vitamin D3 - 10,000 iu daily
  • Carnosine - 1,500 mgs daily
  • PQQ (Pyrroloquinoline) - 60 mgs daily
  • Vitamin K2 - 2,000 mcgs daily (higher doses if necessary)
  • I will make fermented vegetables and eat about 1/3 cup daily.  My gut flora is likely out of balance.  This seems to be one of the most important steps.  If, for some reason, you are unable to ferment your own vegetables, buy Bubbies sauerkraut in the refrigerated section of some markets, such at Sprouts, or buy unpasteurized Kim Chi.
  • Vitamin C - 5 grams daily
  • Vitamin B Complex - high potency
  • Coconut Oil  - 5 tablespoons daily (work slowly up to this level as coconut oil also acts as a laxative).  If necessary, mix with lemon juice (or raw apple cider vinegar) and raw, organic honey.
  • I will eliminate all Wheat, Corn and Soy from my diet.
  • I will take Carlson's Cod Liver Oil Capsules daily,
  • Resveratrol  - 750 mgs daily
  • Methylcobalamin (Vitamin B12)   - 1 mg (1,000 mcgs)  also daily
  • Creatine powder, 1/4 teas twice daily
  • I will eliminate all wheat, corn and soy from my diet. I will eat no gluten.
  • I will eliminate any food marked "diet" or "lite."  Ensuring I get NO artificial sweeteners in my diet
  • I will eliminate consuming MSG in my diet, checking food labels and asking restaurants in which I dine if they add this poison to their foods.
  • I will take Turmeric (Curcumin) daily

I will also eliminate the following toxins from my life:

Fluoride – buy and use a non-fluoridated toothpaste.  Tom’s of Maine makes several.  Fluoride is an industrial waste poison which has never been shown to reduce or prevent tooth decay.
Mercury – have all mercury amalgam fillings removed from your mouth by a dentist especially trained in this.   The amalgam bleed mercury into you system for decades following the implant.  Also avoid all vaccines (including flu shots) for they also contain mercury which is used as a preservative.

Lead - check for lead warnings on bottles of balsamic vinegar.
Aluminum – Aluminum is most frequently found in antiperspirants.  Begin using a deodorant which does not contain aluminum.  Tom of Maine’s also makes these types of products.  Also get rid of all aluminum cooking pans as the aluminum leeches into the food as it cooks.
I will read “Minding my Mitochondria” and "The Wahl's Protocol" by Dr. Terry Wahls and begin the diet outlined in the book.  Dr. Wahl’s reversed her own Multiple Sclerosis (MS) through her diet.
